Geothermal...

Energy Savings & Cost

No matter what's happening outside - hot or cold, humid or dry - get the most comfortable indoor climate control and save on utility costs and the Earth's resources!

There has never been a better time for you to consider tapping into the earth's natural energy to heat and cool your home or business. It just makes since to protect yourself from the inevitable increase in traditional energy costs. In the summer months, you can save between 45% to 60%. In the winter months, you'll save between 55% to 80% depending on the type of fuel you currently use to heat. You can also save between 40% to 50% on the cost of heating your domestic water with the same system.

Once installed, a geothermal heat pump system will provide clean, quiet, and very low cost heating/cooling year after year. And now, with the 30% Geothermal Residential Tax Credit, a new system will pay for itself in very short order. Geothermal energy, energy that is tapped from the earth's constant and natural heat, is now very easy to harness and is completely safe.

How to Claim Your One-Time 30% Geothermal Energy Tax Credit

Due to the anticipated 50% to 75% reduction in residential energy usage afforded by converting to Geothermal Energy, The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 now allows a substantial Homeowners Tax Credit on their 2009 Federal Tax Return (Form 1040). The newly expanded tax credit allows homeowners a one-time tax credit equal to 30 percent of the total investment for residential ground loop or ground water geothermal heat pump installations. To claim your credit you will need to submit Form 5695 Residential Energy Efficient Property Credit with your 2009 Federal Tax Return. In previous years, there was a maximum credit of $2,000. That limitation has been lifted and now you can claim a full 30% on all direct costs associated with the purchase and installation of a Geothermal Heat Pump system.

With the rising costs of oil, gas, and electricity, combined with this generous 30% Tax Credit, there has never been a better time to convert to a Geothermal Heating/Cooling System. Black Forest Heating & Cooling will provide you a free, no-obligation estimate on installing a geothermal home comfort system in your business or home.
